Toddler-proof Ornaments!
Don’t look too close but I’m pretty happy with the way these turned out. They are kind of fun and different. The best part is: they don’t break! At least they don’t break like glass ornaments do. I’m sure if you’re a little kid and you twiddled one around your finger from it’s ribbon like a lasso, my stitching would eventually weaken and the ornament might torpedo across the room. And then the dog might eat it. But relatively these are less breakable than your average ornament. In fact, I’d even say they are toddler proof.

I LOVE IT! What great ornaments. They will give you such great memories during a time when memories are so vibrant and wonderful to share. And, of course anything toddler-proof is a bonus!

If you don’t stop making adorable Christmas decorations I am going to have to question my own religious preference. So stop it right now! :-)

I think they are awesome.

So cute!
After our glass-ornament-eating incident of 2005, all we have on our tree is stuffed and/or plastic decorations on the tree. This is a totally cute idea!

Awesome idea! Will have to file it away for next year.

Great idea! You are so creative!

Adorable! I’m considering um…borrowing your idea for a gift for my mother-in-law. I love them!

You know, I just thought of an idea for a doll. You could take photos of your child’s head (front and back), their torso (front and back), their arms (front and back) and their legs/feet (front and back), and cut out one large body form, ironing on the photos where they go.
Ooooh! That would be too much fun.
And these? These are going on my list of Christmas Crafts for when the kids are out of school.
You are so fabulous – just might have to come on over there to CA (in July) and sniff you. YOU MUST smell like chocolate or coffee. Is there anything more fabulous than that?

Great idea and super cute. So far this year only one ornament broke and I was the one that broke it. I may need to rethink my tree next year because Baby Bum will be mobile. Although he is my easy going child I think he will be the holy terror. He’s not even crawling and I am already constantly having to get him out of stuff.

OMG!!!!!! The ornaments are so cute!!!!! How do you make them? I would like to do this with the girls and gramma over break!! How do you make them? Teach me, oh Wise Crafty One :o) OMSH, the idea for the baby doll is AWESOME! You know, for being a “lefty” I can “get my creative on”, but you girls….take the cake!!! I am always in awe of your creations!

Those are great! And I love OMSH’s idea above. It’s a gooder. I’d do it if I had any craft skill whatsoever.

Lynne’s right! I think back to all the glass ornaments that have shattered after my cats have accidentally knocked the tree over or clawed away at their favorites! This is a great idea, SAJ!

Toddler proof is always wonderful! Great idea.

OK, first of all, OMSH has been talking a lot lately about sniffing you. Maybe you should send her a shirt of yours or something ;)
What a great idea for ornaments! You are the most creative person I know :)

What a wonderful idea!! I mean absolutely brilliant seeing as I’ve just picked up the second broken ornament, this week, just 5 minutes ago.
Toni
It’s adult-proof too!! A great gift for clumsies. :D Fantastic idea!

Cool idea – cloth ornaments. We have had over the years – a few glass ornaments break and they are no fun to clean up…especially when there is a barefoot child in the midst of it all.
