I have been wanting to try these. How do you buy them and them cook them?
The kids need a new veggie. We are going to try a new food a week this summer. As they get older they get so stubborn and refuse so much. j
I bought a bag of frozen edamame at the local Asian market but I think you can buy them almost anywhere… grocery store, trader joes… I just boiled them in a pot of water with a half tsp of salt for 5 minutes and viola! better than chips!
Mmmmm, yes, those are SO tasty! Perhaps – if I may be so bold as to add another adjective – I might even say “crunchy.” In fact, I would say “crunchy.” (There, I just said it TWICE, even.)
I think Girl Scouts would love them! There’s a recipe for a salad on the back of the package I bought… I threw it away though. It was basically a fancy salad with the hulled beans thrown in.
This is too weird. I hadn’t made edamame in eons, but I had nothing green to feed my kids tonight, so I dug a bag out of the freezer and made them for dinner. You really are a spy! :-)

Yum. Love edamame. I lived off edamame and spicy tuna rolls when I was single.

Me too, my son and I can sit and eat a bowl a night just for ourselves.

YUM. Just had some the other day with a Vegas Roll. I never cook them as good as the restaurants do. Maybe I need more salt…

p.s. you don’t eat the husks. just pop out the beans and pop them in your mouth. Yummy!

I got a big bag from costco. I guess they’re already boiled b/c you just defrost them in cold water and enjoy.

My kids LOVE edamame. Boiled and lightly salted.
But I have no Asian market within a less than two hours drive, so we usually only get it on our “drive into the big city sushi trip”.
