Plans derailed.
October 27th, 2009I’ve spent most of today holding a feverish kid with one arm and scrolling through my feed-reader with my free hand. While I’m glad to be catching up on all those blogs I haven’t read for ages, it’s not my favorite way to spend the day. It could be worse. I could be stuck here on the couch without wifi. And we could be puking our guts out from that awful death sickness we had back in February. Thankfully things seem to be turning for the better.
I was supposed to attack some sewing projects with my mom but I think those are going to be put on hold. Bug’s ninja hat for her Halloween costume will either have to be some sort of hand-tied t-shirt job or maybe we’ll just can Halloween altogether. It’s not like we haven’t done that before. I will be a little bit sad though if that happens.
But most of all I just want Bug to feel better. She has been sitting up for the last hour or so demanding ice cubes. I think that is a good sign. Three cheers for the twenty-four-hour part of this virus.
Thinking of all you other folks out there suffering from this season’s crud. Let’s all get better!

At least her pacifier is appropriately Halloween-y! I have a sick daughter here, too. So weird when their natural energy is just GONE!

Oh no! Don’t let a silly little sickness derail halloween- you can totally make a ninja costume!
p.s. That Pah is really cute.

Her sad-sickyness comes right through the screen……Hope she is feeling better soon. I made a Karate Kid outfit once… and the Rasins….

The teen-agers were sick a couple of weeks ago. BUT when you are in high school you have to keep plugging along…geometry test, honors classes and cross country meets. He didn’t fall behind and is much better.
Get better Bugs.

Hope by now Bug is well and truly on the mend, and that the ice cubes did make her feel better. I look forward to seeing whatever creative brilliance the Halloween costume ends up being, there aren’t enough times to dress up in cool costumes here in Australia :).

Aww, sweet Bug. I hope it is just the 24 hour bug, like I just had, and she is back to her usual self in no time. This is the crappy time of year for getting sick, at least in our neck of the woods.

Well, since I’m reading old posts I can see from Bug’s ninja moves that she’s feeling better.
I’m totally paranoid about being sick right now. And reading about everyone being sick is making me even more paranoid. On Tuesday I had my postpartum appointment and the doctor mentioned that we might want to get the H1N1 vaccine and the flu vaccine because of Nathan.
But like I said, I’m paranoid. I’m worried about Isabelle getting the vaccines but on the other side of the coin am worried about Nathan getting the flu. I don’t know what to do. Did Bug get vaccinated?
