summertime
June 17th, 2009I think if I had to do a photo essay on the subject of summer, I’d choose these photos. Or I could just blog about them. This is, after all, my photo essay of my life. But I don’t know. I just really love these photos. They take all the fun that we had and squeeze it into concentrate. And before you feel too bad for Bug in that last photo where she’s screaming, don’t. Please know that she got herself all the way to the top of the slide knowing that she’d have to come down somehow. Mommy rescues once or twice but after that you’re on your own, kid.

I’m so glad to know there’s another 3-year-old girl terrified of most slides. Ours will do the same! Good for you for not rescuing.

That looks like so much fun! I love your essay, it’s way to hot here in Brazil too so I better go get some air and a swim!

I love these pictures. They make summer look fun, not just hot which is what it feels like in Texas. Just. Plain. HOT.

I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see these photos and notice that you used our beach towels! I love that you feel comfortable enough in our home to know that of course I would want you to use our beach towels (that we bought 13 years ago specifically so we’d have extra beach towels for guests)!
:-)

Wonderful photo essay! All my summer photos are from the backyard, by the pool, in the pool, in the sprinkler, sand box… you get the idea. With a few excursions mixed in for fun.

It’s so sweet that Bug has a big cousin to hold her coming down the big slide. That photo captures something special for sure.

I’ll admit, when I saw that last picture, first I cringed, then I laughed when I read what you wrote about it because that was me at that age. It seems so ridiculous to me now. Why was I so scared of slides? Anyway, glad I can laugh at myself about it now.

Oh my goodness, that last one is just priceless. And the colors in these photos are so vivid. They perfectly describe summer.

Ah, summer. Love the pics. I think they summarize everything really well. No words needed. :)
