Visiting Dad at the Truck Terminal and CC’s Birthday

As you probably know, my Dad is a trucker (who cooks himself a full meal IN HIS TRUCK—notice above photo). He used to work in the terminal as teacher but now he’s back on the road again. The other night he was in the Fontana terminal killing some time before he headed off to Calgary, Canada. We decided to meet him there and take him out to dinner. It was CC’s birthday after all so we were due for a family dinner anyway.
Like any good working class family, we went to Olive Garden where I contracted dysentery and I will never eat there again. Actually, I’m sure it was just the 24-hour flu that is going around. But none-the-less, I will never eat there again.

So sorry you were under the weather and missed dinner last night. Baby Bug ate heartily, discovering she really likes blue cheese and pears AND chocolate cake.

That’s actually quite impressive - the cooking a meal in his truck thing.
And yes, I hate it too when my camera will not do what I tell it to do!

I’m starting to get scared of this 24 hour flu that’s going around, I’m not good with icky things!

We have had the flu going around here since right before our conference- thanksgiving weekend. It is still making it’s way through our households. I will never eat chicken nuggets again…. what was I thinking in the first place?

Reminds me of Daves dad, except that Daves dad always eats in truck stops and cafeterias, and really can only BBQ things, and cannot knit….guess only the trucker part and trips to Calgary is similar. Hmm.

Wow, your Dad cooks a meal in his truck?! That is amazing. He looks pretty happy for being back on the road. I surely hope he doesn’t hit any major snow storms on his way to Calgary like we are living in right now. And despite you getting sick, your photos of CC’s birthday look very warm and happy.

Dysentery - boo hiss! Hope you’re feeling better :o) CC looked so cute in her “Kiss Me” t-shirt - orange is a gorgeous color on her! Your dad is a cutie pie, by the way…making his own dinner and then there’s your mom who is always adorable!!! Such a sweet family, B.!
