Haute Daug Fashion
August 20th, 2007Look what arrived in the mail the other day. Isn’t it great how my family supports my crazy obsessions? I love my family. My Aunt Keren sewed this based on a simple sketch I drew up. She added the applique with my approval but it was totally her idea. I love it. I can’t wait to take pictures of Baby Bug in it.
Just so you don’t worry that I’ve turned into a dog person and abandoned my love for cats, here is a picture of Pounce. Baby Bug and I got bored so we dressed him.
He did not like it.

Wow that Aunt Keren you have is awesome!!
And heee hee poor Pounce! Did you laugh maniacally? That’s what I used to do when I dressed my dogs. Bwa ha ha!!
SAJ says: Not maniacally but we did giggle quite a bit. Then I felt sorry for him because he acted like he couldn’t walk with the thousand pound tank top on his back.

But did you put the pink sparkly polish on Pounce’s claws?
SAJ says: ha ha! No… I couldn’t even believe BB let me put it on her and sat still. When I clip her fingernails it’s usually squirm city.

I hope you see you have a Couture Baby Clothing line in the works!!
SAJ says: Coming right up. Just kidding. My Aunt might though.

SAJ says: Of course she is!
and, duh, the cat did not like it! heehee.
Poor Pounce. Poor poor Pounce. He’s a good sport.
SAJ says: He really is. Amazingly good with her. He is the best cat EVER.

Wow. I just noticed the time it said on my comment. It’s 6.54a here, I thought you were only 2 hours behind me. Your time makes me look all awake and everything really early in the morning. I was nursing someone at that time, my time, but since, have slept again, awakened, and have begun my morning coffee ritual. Oh, how I love my coffee machine that works on a timer and grinds my beans and smells oh.so.good when I get out of the shower.
Oh, there’s the bacon. Gotta go.
SAJ says: I wish I had one of those automatic grinding coffee machines! Or a buttler. Either one.

I would pay two arms and both legs for a kitty and or monkey one. That is fantastic. It really is 6:54 am here. Haven’t slept yet. Argh.
SAJ says: !!! You haven’t slept yet? When do you sleep?

I love the dress, you have the best ideas. You could totally sell those and if I had a daughter, I would want one!
Ha! Cats hate beeing messed with but isn’t their perturbed reaction just part of the fun?!

A yellow tank with a bow?!?! How emasculating!! Hang tough Pounce! Gather all of your male felines and UNITE!
August 21st, 2007 at 8:45 am
Oh my god, that dress is seriously the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
August 21st, 2007 at 9:42 am
Ahhh, now you are adding clothing design to your repetoire. You will be one busy woman, not that you already aren’t.
SAJ says: Not quite. I want to be a cake decorator first and then I’ll tackle dress design. Ha ha!

Great sketch, I’m amazed you managed to source the material with woofs and barks on it. I’m even more amazed that your cat stayed still enough for you to dress her and photograph her and all while a toddler was on the rampage close by. Is you cat uber laid back or what? My Willow is such a scardy cat she vanishes into my wardrobe to hide at the slightest hint of provocation (or either she’s discovered the route to Narnia amongst my jumble of shoes).
SAJ says: I found the fabric first. That’s the trick. :) And yes, Pounce is uber laid back. He lets Baby Bug maul him all the time. He’ll even lay right in front of her just asking for it. Also, I love the Narnia reference!

I neeeeed a dress like that for Ella. And I love that it is brown. It’s difficult to find non-pink girl clothes.

Again with the jealousy and awe. I am feeling inadequate, and now I want to be just like you when I grow up. Although, now that I ponder… how are you at cookie baking? Because, I have to say, I rock the cookie sheet!

Is it ok to be an adult and want a dress with a puppy face on it? Let me know, k?
