“Stop and Go, Stop and Go….”
February 14th, 2007
Baby Bug has a new toy. It’s a scooter bus for one-year-olds. It’s also a brightly colored plastic bus that honks and sings an annoyingly catchy tune. I could sing it for you right now, in fact. “Stop and Go… Stop and Go….”
What?!!! The horror!
This is a classic case of how much you change once you become a parent. I would die a thousand deaths over having such an obnoxious thing in my house before I became Baby Bug’s mom. But now, there is nothing that could make either of us happier. I love watching her try to get on and off of it. I love how happy she is that she can push the buttons all by herself over and over (and over and over). I love how she bobs her head to the sing-songy tune. I love how it’s the first thing she wants to play with when she gets up five thirty in the morning and I’m still groggy and so very not ready to get up. I love watching her open and close the seat lid and put toys inside and then take them back out again. It is a beautiful thing when your child learns to play with a toy all by themselves.
I could fill my house up with them. Ummmmm… No. I won’t go that far. But one loud obnoxious yellow bus in the living room is okay. We’ll rearrange our lives around it for Baby Bug’s sake.

Have you ever seen such a sad face? This is probably what she would look like if we took the yellow bus away.

Wow, she loves that toy, such cute expressions. I was surprised that it’s just as exciting with my second child as has been with my first to see “new” in their eyes. Aww, the sad face.

Hee hee! She has such a happy look on her face riding her little scooter bus.

Just wait, there’ll be more. But, oh how lovely they are when they entertain your child to no end. She is looking so much older with her new hairdo! So cute.

her face in that second photo is priceless!
February 14th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
Oh my gosh, how’d she learn to furrow her eyebrows at such a young age. How can you resist a face like that?
February 14th, 2007 at 6:57 pm
OH MY GOSH She is sooooooo CUUUTE!
February 14th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
The picture of her with her mouth wide open with glee is just too cute! And the sad picture? Priceless! I love it. She is so adorable and she’s just getting cuter and cuter!!

Unfortunately, sometimes that plastic noisy toys are the best ones. Hey, if it makes her happy, why not?
:)

I was thinking the same thing today as I carted home a flourescent exersaucer from Wal-mart…the things we allow in our living rooms can be mighty frightening. :)

Love the new masthead.
We all have that line that we think won’t be crossed…and then our darling babies come along and dance right across the line and we’re so busy clapping for them we barely even notice. As you say, funny how kids change a person. :-)

I never thought I would have so much blinking, musical, plastic crap either but I can’t help it. (I can blame it on the grandparents.) As long as he is having fun and happy, I am happy too.
Baby bug is so cute. I love her little expressions. I am glad to hear you are having so much fun together.

I’d totally be under her spell. That child’s sad face would make me want to do anything to get it to be happy again.
February 15th, 2007 at 8:24 am
Dang. She is so freaking cute.
February 15th, 2007 at 8:41 am
SO EXPRESSIVE! Have you tried teaching her to make faces? My dad used to do that with me when I was very little, “Show me happy,” “Show me sad,” “What’s angry look like?” It was a fun game for us to play.

I know that song…..”with a beep-beep, honk-honk….” I feel your pain!
She looks so precious up on that bus!

Wow! That photo of you and her is fabulous…the expressions on both of your faces are exquisite. I can remember when James had a ride on toy like that so I can totally relate to your enjoyment of an otherwise obnoxious toy! :-)

I have a huge weakness for Fisher Price Little People. What that says about me, I do not know, but I covet that bus. She is the cutest little sweet head.
February 15th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Now if she’s especially naughty, you can ground her from her yellow bus! You totally have leverage! She is adorable, having fun with her bus, and you know I think she has your eyes. Such a cutie patootie.

“Stop and go, stop and go, off to school let’s take it slow with a beep, beep, honk, honk all around the town…stop and go and stop and go!”
Yeah…we’ve got a non ride-on Little People school bus that sings that. I’ve heard it eleventy million times, though it’s much more palatable than hearing “A! A! A A A A A A A A A A A A A A says A and A says Ah!” over and over as she plays with the stupid Leapfrog letter magnet on the fridge.
What ya gonna do…
I’m with others though, I adore Little People. :)

What an expressive little one you have! Great job capturing the Bug of Many Faces.

Before you know it, your house will be filled with loud, blinking, plastic crap. It happens to the best of us.
BB is so growing up so fast.
February 16th, 2007 at 5:15 am
I would look like that if someone took my yellow bus away too. :-)
February 16th, 2007 at 5:35 am
That is the cutest sad face in the whole world! We swore we wouldn’t have all that stuff too, but alas our house is full of it. We, thankfully, had a “Pooh” car that played fun little tunes and hummed like a bumble bee looking for honey. J loved that car and still does, but it is in the basement for occaisional playing. J is really too big for it but somehow he gets it going and flies around on it. When it was in our main living area it made many trips down the tiled halway, just wait until BB gets good at doing 180’s and drives like a maniac, gives you insight into the teen years ;).

My son has a school bus that plays that very song! When it gets stuck in your head, you can’t get it out!!! :o) Love the pics.
February 16th, 2007 at 8:20 am
Wow… she’s looking like such a big girl now. What a cutie. And lots of hair now too! =)
February 16th, 2007 at 8:34 am
Baby Bug is so sweet, I can barely stand it sometimes! :) Too. Much. Cuteness. Feeling. Weak.
When I was pregnant with my first, I refused to buy anything that was obnoxiously colored or played annoying music. But then I put my new baby in the muted-tone seat and the floor gym with had no bells or whistles. That was one bored baby.
It’s amazing what we come to accept. Bring on the Elmo phone!
February 16th, 2007 at 11:43 am
She sure looks like her mama.
February 17th, 2007 at 8:27 am
Oh my gosh she has gotten so big since my last visit! And she is such a gorgeous girl too, I have to stop by more often. :)
